Before you book, know who certified the course, what the certificate will prove to your employer, which accreditation claims are impossible in Ireland, and the red flags that mean a course will not be accepted.
Every online safety course promises an accredited certificate, and the word costs nothing to print. If you are about to book a manual handling, fire safety or HACCP course for yourself or your team, the question that matters is narrower: will the certificate be accepted by the employer, the inspector or the main contractor who asked for it? This guide answers that from the buyer's side. It explains who can accredit what in Ireland, which claims cannot be true, how to read a course page in two minutes, and what the certificate you download should contain.

The course page names the accrediting body, you can find that body online, the modules are listed, there is an assessment and the certificate carries a verification code. If any of the five is missing, the word accredited is doing no work.
No. The Health and Safety Authority does not approve or accredit training. Courses can be, and should be, aligned with HSA guidance, and that alignment is what you check against the module list.
For the awareness and compliance training that every employee must hold, yes: Irish employers, insurers and main contractors accept CPD certified, assessed, verifiable certificates for induction, manual handling, fire, work at height, chemicals and food hygiene. For a qualification role they will ask for a QQI award.
QQI accredits providers to award state qualifications at a level on the National Framework; CPD certification confirms that a course is structured, assessed professional development of stated hours. The first is for qualification roles, the second for the training everyone must hold.
For awareness training such as manual handling, working at heights and fire safety, yes, when the certificate is verifiable. The statutory Safe Pass card is separate and must be held in addition on construction sites.
The validity is printed on it: three years for most awareness courses, two for first aid, and immediate retraining is expected when the risk or the equipment changes regardless of the date.
The health & safety induction for employees runs beautifully on PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone, wherever in Ireland your team happens to be. A clean, comfortable platform designed for smooth learning. Learners in Ireland study from home, from work or on the move, with no classroom visit needed anywhere across every county in Ireland.

Discover why workers and businesses in Ireland, from Dublin, Cork, Galway and beyond, choose Online Safety Courses for health and safety training.
The health & safety induction for employees at Online Safety Courses fits Ireland working life perfectly. From Dublin's construction cranes and Cork's pharma plants to Galway's medtech campuses, Limerick's manufacturing belt and the farms, hotels, warehouses and hospitals in every county between, Irish workplaces run on certified, compliant staff. Instead of losing a day to a classroom, learners in Ireland complete the full accredited training online, in about 1-2 hours, from home or straight from the workplace.
Local employers know exactly what they are looking at when your certificate arrives: CPD Certified, RoSPA approved, HSA aligned training from a provider used by businesses across every county in Ireland. The unique verification code on every certificate makes checks instant, whether you work in Dublin, Cork or Galway.
For businesses, the free Employer Dashboard turns a team rollout into one afternoon of work: bulk registration, live progress and every health and safety certificate in one clean screen, with automatic volume discounts applied at checkout.
This workplace safety course was designed for real staff schedules. Every lesson streams on any device, every pause saves the place, and nothing needs installing. HD video, animation and interactive questions turn hazards, risk assessment and emergency response into knowledge people keep.
The syllabus tracks exactly what the HSA expects from general employee training: legal duties, hazard identification and reporting, risk assessment basics, fire safety, manual handling awareness, ergonomics and welfare. Scenarios span Irish offices, shops, sites and factories.
Whether you are onboarding one new starter or refreshing an entire company, the employee safety training flows without friction from registration to certificate.
Classroom safety inductions for a whole workforce cost serious money: venues, trainers, cover and lost days, repeated for every intake. The online employee safety course removes all of it. Staff certify from their desks or homes, starting the moment you enrol them.
Managers see each completion in real time and can hand auditors a complete company training record in seconds. Stack the automatic volume discounts on top and this becomes the most economical accredited employee safety training available in Ireland.
Pricing is honest: one figure covers the full course, unlimited retakes and the instant health and safety certificate. No add ons, ever.
Nobody learns well against a stopwatch. The self-paced workplace safety course lets each employee move at whatever speed suits, pausing on any device and resuming exactly where they left off. Shift workers, field staff and office teams all finish comfortably.
A clear progress tracker shows how much of the employee safety training remains and how close the certificate is. Some finish in one focused sitting of about 1-2 hours; others take a few short sessions. Both work perfectly.
Assign it company wide and staff will slot it around real work without disruption, one of the main reasons Irish employers return to Online Safety Courses year after year.
There is no waiting around. Each pass generates a digital health and safety certificate on the spot, aligned with Irish legislation and recognised across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Certificates live permanently in each account for re-download during audits and inspections, and unique verification codes let any inspector confirm them instantly.
For the business, that means a complete, verifiable training record for every single person on the payroll, ready the moment the HSA asks.
Every module comes from licensed, Chartered (CMIOSH) health and safety consultants holding NFQ Level 6 and QQI Level 6 qualifications, people who train real Irish workforces for a living.
That experience shows: staff learn to spot the hazards they walk past daily, understand why risk assessments exist, know their sixty second fire response and protect their backs when lifting. Real Irish scenarios make every lesson stick.
Content is re-reviewed against current legislation and HSA guidance, so the workplace safety course never drifts out of date.
The platform never closes. Night crews certify at 3am, weekend staff on Sunday morning and office teams over lunch, all with exactly the same premium experience.
Progress syncs across every device automatically, so switching from phone to laptop mid module is seamless.
Employees can also revisit modules anytime, so a quick refresher on fire response or hazard reporting is always one tap away, turning the course into a living resource for the whole organisation.
Online Safety Courses has certified more than 749,500 learners across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a 98% pass rate and a 4.9 star average from verified Google reviews we cannot edit or hide.
From Dublin to Cork, Galway to Limerick and Waterford to Belfast, our employee safety training builds companies where safety is normal rather than an event.
Employers come back because it simply works: clean records, instant certificates and a support team that answers.
Every person on every Irish payroll, because the 2005 Act requires training at induction, on role changes and at regular intervals for all employees. This is the one course that covers the entire organisation.
In practice, businesses run it as the universal baseline: new starters complete it during induction, existing staff refresh on a rolling cycle, and role specific courses like Manual Handling, Working at Heights or HACCP sit on top for those who need them.
That layered structure is exactly what HSA inspectors want to see, and our Employer Dashboard makes it effortless to manage. Our Irish support team can help design the right training matrix for your company.
Before you book, know who certified the course, what the certificate will prove to your employer, which accreditation claims are impossible in Ireland, and the red flags that mean a course will not be accepted.
Three bodies grant recognition that means something, and each means something different. QQI awards formal qualifications on the National Framework of Qualifications through providers whose programmes it has validated; a QQI award is what you need for a qualification role such as manual handling instructor or safety representative on a formal course. Professional bodies, IOSH and NEBOSH chiefly, approve providers to deliver their own named programmes, such as IOSH Managing Safely. Independent CPD certification services audit a course's content, learning hours and assessment and certify it as structured continuing professional development, which is the recognition the awareness and compliance tier of safety training carries: induction, manual handling, fire, working at heights, chemicals, food hygiene. SOLAS administers Safe Pass and CSCS as statutory schemes with approved tutors; that is a card, not an accreditation of a provider.
Look for five things. The accreditor is named and can be searched: a CPD certification body, QQI, IOSH. The modules are listed, so you can match them to the HSA guidance or the regulation for the hazard, for example the eight steps of a manual handling risk assessment or the classes of fire and extinguisher. There is an assessment with a pass mark, because an attendance certificate does not meet Section 10 of the 2005 Act, which requires the employee to understand. The certificate is described: what it states, how long it is valid, and how it is verified. And the page says honestly what the course does not cover: an online abrasive wheels course teaches the theory of mounting and a competent person supervises the first mounting; an online first aid course is awareness and the responder certificate is practical. A page that oversells is the first red flag.
Your name as the learner, the exact course title, the date passed, the validity period, the issuing platform and the accreditor, and a verification code or link that lets anyone confirm all of it online. Employers, insurers and site managers increasingly verify rather than file: a certificate that cannot be verified is treated as missing. Keep the PDF, but it is the code that does the work at induction and at inspection. Validity on awareness certificates is normally three years, two for first aid, and the renewal date on the certificate is what the training matrix tracks.
Every course here is CPD certified by an independent certification service, aligned with the HSA guidance for its hazard, ends in an assessment and issues a certificate with a verification code the moment you pass. Each course page lists its modules so you can run the two minute check yourself before booking, and the occupational health and safety courses guide shows where this tier sits against QQI awards and professional certificates, so you book the right kind of recognition for the role rather than the loudest adjective.
QQI, IOSH, NEBOSH or an independent CPD certification body. "Fully accredited" with no name proves nothing.
The HSA, the fire services and the national food safety authority approve no course. Aligned with their guidance is the honest wording.
Name, course, date, validity, issuer and a code anyone can check online before the first shift.
Every course here passes its own test: CPD certified, aligned with HSA guidance, assessed, with a verifiable certificate in about an hour. Start with the Health and Safety Course every employee needs first.
