Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR: the sequence every first aider uses to assess a casualty in the first thirty seconds.
DRSABC is the memory aid for the primary survey, the fast structured check a first aider carries out on every casualty before anything else. It puts the life threatening problems first, in the order they kill: your own safety, then whether the casualty is conscious, then getting help on the way, then the airway, then breathing, then circulation. Some courses teach it as DRABC or DR ABC; the steps are the same.

This emergency first aid course was designed from day one for busy working people. Every lesson streams on any device, every pause saves your place, and nothing needs installing. HD video, calm demonstrations and interactive questions turn CPR, choking response and bleeding control into skills you will actually remember under stress.
The syllabus covers what the HSA expects from workplace first aid knowledge: the primary survey, CPR and AED awareness, choking, wounds, burns, shock and a clean handover to paramedics. Scenarios play out in ordinary Irish workplaces and homes, because that is where emergencies happen.
Whether you are the newly nominated office first aider or a parent who wants to be ready, the first aid training flows without friction from registration to certificate.
A classroom first aid day costs far more than the ticket price: travel, cover staff and lost hours. The online emergency first aid course removes every one of those costs. Staff certify from their desks or homes, starting the moment you enrol them.
Managers see each completion in real time and can hand auditors a full training record in seconds. Stack the automatic volume discounts on top and this becomes the most economical accredited first aid training available in Ireland.
Pricing is honest: one figure covers the full course, unlimited retakes and the instant first aid certificate. No add ons, ever.
Nobody learns life saving skills well under exam pressure. The self-paced first aid course lets you move at whatever speed suits, pausing on any device and resuming exactly where you left off. Shift workers, parents and busy teams all finish comfortably.
A clear progress tracker shows how much of the emergency first aid training remains and how close the certificate is. Some learners complete it in one focused sitting of about 2 hours; others take a few short sessions. Both work perfectly.
Assign it to employees and they will slot it around real work without disruption, one of the main reasons Irish employers return to Online Safety Courses year after year.
There is no waiting around. Pass the assessment and the digital first aid certificate is generated on the spot, aligned with current guidelines and recognised across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
It lives permanently in your account for re-download during audits, job applications and insurance renewals, and its unique verification code lets any employer confirm it instantly.
On a CV, the first aid certificate is among the most universally respected credentials there is, because every workplace wants someone who knows what to do.
Every module comes from licensed, Chartered (CMIOSH) health and safety consultants following current Irish and European resuscitation guidelines, with techniques demonstrated slowly, clearly and correctly.
You learn effective chest compressions, the correct response to choking, how to control bleeding that will not stop and how to treat burns in the first minutes. Each skill is shown, repeated and tested so it stays with you.
Content is re-reviewed against updated guidelines and HSA guidance, so the first aid course never drifts out of date.
The platform never closes. Start the emergency first aid training after the kids are asleep, continue at lunch and finish on the weekend, whatever rhythm suits your life.
Progress syncs across every device automatically, so switching from phone to laptop mid module is seamless. Night shift workers get exactly the same premium experience.
You can also reopen the CPR or choking modules anytime for a quick refresher, turning the first aid course into a living resource rather than a one time event.
Online Safety Courses has certified more than 749,500 learners across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with a 98% pass rate and a 4.9 star average from verified Google reviews we cannot edit or hide.
From Dublin to Cork, Galway to Limerick and Waterford to Belfast, our emergency first aid training builds workplaces where somebody always knows what to do.
Employers come back because it simply works: clean records, instant certificates and a support team that answers.
Every Irish workplace legally needs trained first aiders, enough to cover every shift, site and department under the 2005 Act. The workplace risk assessment sets the number, and the HSA checks it.
In practice, the people certifying with us are nominated first aiders, office and warehouse staff, construction crews, hospitality and retail teams, teachers, creche and care workers, coaches, drivers and a growing number of parents learning for home.
If you have been handed the first aid kit, or you want the confidence to use one, this course is the fastest way there, and our Irish support team can help plan first aider coverage for your business.
Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, CPR: the sequence every first aider uses to assess a casualty in the first thirty seconds.
Stop and look before you approach. Traffic, electricity, fire, gas, chemicals, machinery, a violent person, water, an unstable structure. Make the scene safe or, if you cannot, wait for the emergency services. A second casualty helps nobody.
Speak loudly and clearly: can you hear me, open your eyes. Gently shake the shoulders. A casualty who responds is conscious and breathing; treat what you find and monitor them. No response means move to the next steps quickly.
Shout for help, call 112 or 999 yourself on speaker or direct a bystander to call, and send someone for the first aid kit and the AED. Give the location, what happened and how many casualties.
Open the airway with a head tilt and chin lift. Look inside the mouth and remove any obvious obstruction you can see; do not sweep blindly with a finger.
Look for chest movement, listen at the mouth and feel for breath on your cheek, for no more than ten seconds. Normal breathing in an unresponsive casualty: place them in the recovery position, on their side with the head tilted back and the airway open, and monitor. Not breathing normally: start CPR.
Begin chest compressions and rescue breaths at thirty to two, attach the AED as soon as it arrives and keep going until help takes over. In a casualty who is breathing, C stands for circulation: find and control severe bleeding with direct pressure.
Your safety comes before the casualty. Never become the second victim.
The maximum time to check for normal breathing before deciding to start CPR.
Unresponsive and breathing: on the side, head back, airway open, monitored.
